As ever, I am only posting here so as to announce something as widely as possible. (As ever, my normal blog is at www.sindark.com.)

Many of my friends with LiveJournal accounts are fans of my brother Mica's films. As a Christmas gift, I have set up a new website for him at http://www.papaflyfilms.com/.

His latest video can be viewed there, as can a listing of his more notable releases so far. The site is not 100% complete, so all suggestions are particularly welcome. As always, people are much encouraged to take a look and leave comments.

Former members of the UBC Afternoon Tea Society should consider adding themselves to the information page I have been compiling on it. Like the rest of the site in which it is embedded, it is a wiki and thus open to public modification.

Adding new ATS-related photos would be especially welcome.

The time has come: Mica’s “Walk Idiot Walk” video is in the final round for the Google Idol video competition and he really needs support if he is going to win. Those who can are encouraged to vote every day. Likewise, please pass along the message to similarly interested others.

I didn’t even know there was prize money, however:

If I were to win this competition, I have decided to donate the prize charity money to the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation. A close family friend of ours was recently diagnosed with breast cancer, and I think it would be fitting to help her cause, and the many more that suffer from it.

Douglas Adams fans everywhere, do not forget to celebrate Towel Day this coming Thursday.

Given that the world’s most interesting English-speaking people are all either present or future appreciators of Adams, you stand a decent chance of meeting some new ones if you carry the towel obviously enough.

In the run up to Christmas, people should consider taking action against Sony for intentionally deploying malware against their own paying customers, lying about it, releasing patches that make it worse, and never showing any contrition or concern about illegally sabotaging people's computers:
